Hello all!!
Here is one of my favorite recipes from growing up! It's super inexpensive while being nutrient-rich! It's high in protein, and low in carbs and fats!
Save it, buy the ingredients over the weekend, throw the ingredients in a Crock-Pot Monday morning, and have lots of healthy food when you get home from training, school, work, the gym, or whatever it is yo beautiful self does during the day.
Ingredients:
2 lbs round or swiss steak, cut in to cubes ($11.16)
1 large onion (yellow or white), thinly sliced ($0.81)
1 14.5 oz can diced tomatoes ($0.86)
1 6 oz can tomato sauce ($0.38)
Salt (pink Himalayan or sea) and pepper to taste (<$0.05)
Total cost: $13.26
Total servings: 5
Cost per servings: $2.65
Macros per serving: 333 cal. 9.7g Carbs, 39.8g Protein, 12.8g Fat.
Directions:
-Cut round steak in to cubes. Season with salt and pepper and place in Crock-Pot with sliced onion.
-Pour tomatoes and tomato sauce over all.
-Cover and cook on Low for 8 to 10 hours.
I like to pair this with broccoli or asparagus!
Also, being an athlete I need more carbohydrates in my diet, so I like to eat this poured over whole grain pasta. 1 serving adds 200cal, 41g Fat, 7g protein, 1.5g fat. And it only costs about $0.14, bringing your total meal cost to $2.79.
Healthy eating doesn't HAVE to be expensive or complicated!!
